Children’s Civil Rights

• Realizing & addressing that children more than any other group in society, are impacted by the actions/inactions of government entities, especially at the school level.

• Upholding and protecting the civil rights of ALL children based on the principles actions, or inactions, of government impact.

• Upholding the knowledge that healthy development of children is crucial to the future well-being of any society.

• Upholding and realizing ALL children are individuals with individual needs and rights, including rights to privacy.

Safety in Schools

• Cyber-Security support and funding for School Districts throughout Riverside County & County Schools

• Support for School Security with active training and resources for an equitable environment.

• Utilize and support School Resource Officers to ensure they have the proper training on how to work with ALL youth, parents and educators in an equitable, reformative environment that is conducive to building positive relationships within the community.

• Continue to provide alternative disciplinary actions for non-violent infractions.

• Promote anti-bullying campaigns with mental health resources for ALL students & support involved.

Parents & Guardians

• Promoting trust & collaboration through open dialogue.

• Listening while engaging. ALL are heard while placing the needs of students at the forefront.

• Offering tools & alternatives to better suit the needs of ALL students.

• Advocating for the needs of ALL Riverside County Students.

• Support for teachers to have the tools and foresight to adapt their teaching style to best suit the needs of ALL students.

• Realizing that not all students are the same, and addressing each of their needs accordingly.

• Providing an equitable & diverse atmosphere where ALL students, educators and parents feel comfortable.

• Student needs are at the forefront and paramount to the success of our education system.

CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE)

• Early education on options for students, families & guardians

• Equitable access for CTE

• Supporting districts and County schools that strive for comprehensive and quality CTE programs

• Work together across the county departments and ALL school districts to promote CTE in school districts. 

• Continue building a bridge and relationship between apprenticeships, internships, learning, working programs and partner with all of our Labor Unions.
